A guide devoted to native grape varieties

Vinibuoni d’Italia is Touring Club Italiano’s guide to wines made from native grape varieties, region by region. Every year its regional panels taste and assess thousands of samples.

Cercamare, Rocca Bernarda’s Ribolla Gialla

Ribolla Gialla is a grape native to Friuli. At Rocca Bernarda it is grown between Ipplis and Corno di Rosazzo, at 130 to 200 metres above sea level, on terraces known as “ronchi”, in marl and sandstone soils of Eocene origin: the ponca. The grapes are picked by hand at the end of September; fermentation and ageing take place in stainless steel at controlled temperature.

The result is an elegant, fruity white, fragrant and dry, with a pleasing softness.
