Description
On the hills overlooking Lake Trasimeno, the Castle of Magione — an ancient Abbey of the Knights of Malta since 1171 — welcomes visitors on a journey within the walls of a manor that guards nine centuries of history. The route crosses the historic cellar, the halls of the castle of the Order and the Umbrian vineyards surrounding the fortress.
The visit ends with the tasting of the wines of the Colli del Trasimeno and Umbria IGT: fresh, savoury whites and characterful reds, born on the lands the Knights have cultivated for centuries. A meeting of art, spirituality and wine culture, in the green heart of Italy.
